A new Dallas Tollway when it's not flooded.
The Stemmons family donated land in the 60's that became I35 and the vision was a freeway and park like land that was frequently flooded so not much use could come of it any other way. While improving the trinity river area is a fine idea just how much money should be poured into mowing the river bottoms? Investing in the river bottoms is not going to bring about new housing opportunities or business opportunities unless you are one of the connected contractors to get awarded some work. The Trinity River project is not a positive financial impact project and you cannot put enough spin to change the published facts.
Since the ballot measure passed I guess we will see what building a road in a river bottom will be like. Will we start calling it the Moss Tollway? That way we can say take the mossway over to.... Oh and the money still doesn't go to our city.
Dallas area schools, summer sessions
Did you know your high school students could get a jump on classes or even get high school and college credit by actually attending a local college.
Ask a school counselor about dual credit classes or sign up your student to take a summer class. This can make the main school year a little easier with 1 less class on the plate each week. If you are just beginning to see the high school years and your student is motivated you can take 2 sessions of classes each summer and graduate a year early. We have some of the best teaching in the area both public and private.
Get to the matter of studies, students and parents. If a student doesn't study and fails it's not a group thing. It's a student thing. The simplest solution is usually the right solution. Actually study!
Having a new computer or a new book does not mean the education is better. Keep an eye on fundamentals. The words in the old books are spelled the same as in the new books.
Actually study, hard work pays off.
